When I found the Ride1Up Roadster V2, it was exactly what I was looking for. All of the reviews that I found were positive. I love the “stealth look” with no obvious clutter on the frame. Most E bikes weigh 50 lbs. or more, so at around 35 lbs, the Roadster is handy for carrying up stairs or using the old bike rack for my SUV. Ride1Up customer service was good, and shipping was fast enough (arrived inside a week), but I live a few hours from their warehouse. The bike was very well packaged with no damage and easy enough to put together. The Roadster is pretty fast and you will get a workout as you have to pedal (no throttle) unless you’re going down hill. Power assist is 0-5, but 4 and 5 will use the battery quickly. If you can keep it at 1 and 2, you should hit 20+ miles on a charge easily. If you live in hilly country, you should probably buy something else. All of my friends think the bike looks really good and are amazed at the “stealthy” look. Questions like “that’s an Ebike” and “where is the battery”are common. The belt drive works perfectly and it’s a real treat to not have to worry about getting oil on clothes or shoes. There was some confusion with the bike dimensions on the Ride1Up website. The box my Roadster V2 arrived in was labeled Medium, but the bike ordered was a Small (52 CM). I am 5’9” with a 30 inch standover, and it fits me perfectly. Overall, this is an excellent entry level E bike. Be sure and check your area for rebates as my California county offered $150-300 per E bike.
